Manufacturing

Dahlke Mouthpieces are manufactured using Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machines. This process is superior to traditional moulded mouthpieces in detail, accuracy, and consistency of production from mouthpiece to mouthpiece. Mouthpiece blanks are made without being touched by human hands. Milling bits, reamers and other tools used in the course of manufacture are changed and positioned automatically.

After the blanks are produced, each mouthpiece is gone over scrupulously by hand and play-tested by Andrew. Hand finishing work is performed so that every mouthpiece plays to its potential. Our hand finishing is completed by Brad Behn in consultation with and alongside Andrew Dahlke. Brad has acquired a reputation as one of the finest mouthpiece refacers and craftsman in the world.
